Artist in Residence: Mr X ‘Illuminating the Soul’
Bethlem Gallery
22-25 January 2025
Open 9.30am – 5pm, Wednesday-Saturday
For several days over January, Bethlem Gallery will become a residency space for artist, Mr X, as he continues his three-dimensional work with colour and light to bring in the new year.
His work will gradually transform as he builds his structures out of cardboard, electrical lights and found objects. Explore Mr X’s residency space as it develops.
On Saturday 25 January, in the gallery space, join Mr X to create your own work with LED lights (please bring your own lights in if you have any). You can add to his construction and help create a collective artwork, then at 4pm join him on a Lantern Walk on the grounds (weather permitting).
This residency space forms the transition into our upcoming exhibition New Build. A trace of ‘Illuminating the Soul’ will carry through into New Build.
This residency is part of a month-long series of open studios at Bethlem Gallery centering neurodivergent art practices, which includes New Build with Project Artworks (29 January – 7 February 2025) and artist Jules Cunningham (12-15 February 2025).
