Mountsfield Recovery House

Mountsfield Recovery House – Artist in Residence

The work at Mountsfield Recovery House was co-produced with artist, Becky Warnock, and service users. The works ‘ All I Know’ include photographic prints, wall text and paintings, displayed across all common areas of the house.

Throughout the workshops, music was a key source of solace and connection. The project created an ongoing playlist, to which each participant adds a new song as a gesture to the next person that arrives in the centre. The gift of the song hopes to tell new residents that they are safe, they are cared for, and provide a small moment of release and hopefulness.

‘All I Know’ is a trace of the interactions and caught moments that happened in our shared space, and explores language of mental health and recovery encouraging participants to imagine new words that better fit their experiences and support future residents of the space.

This project was featured in the Financial Times in January 2025, read more here.

The Mountsfield Recovery House Artist in Residence Programme was funded by Bethlem Gallery, Maudsley Charity and Richmond Fellowship, and supported by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
