The Artist Taxi Driver

Mark McGowan is a practising artist based in south London, who works in the fields of performance art, painting, video, spoken word, and anything and everything else. He uses the media, activism, and mental health to create daily artworks – especially online, where a prolific output of works can be seen on social media sites as well as in galleries and on the street.

McGowan has been connected with Bethlem Gallery since the beginning and was included in the 1997 750th anniversary exhibition at the Bethlem Royal Hospital, when he was a patient.
