Nicola Field

Nicola Field is an artist, researcher and writer who makes drawings, paintings, prints, writings, ceramic sculptures, photographs and videos, often using visual text. For her PhD research at Kingston University, she is exploring the landscapes, politics and poetics of family trauma, and its effects on bodies and minds. 

Bringing together impulsive chaos with painstaking representation and reflection, Nicola embraces the fragmentation, timeslips, repetition and broken syntax of trauma narratives. She invites the onlooker to find their own stories in bodies of work on display.
