Return to Re-write – a talk and tour by artist Xavier White

Wednesday 22 May 11am-12pm

Maudsley Hospital

Brain injury survivor Xavier White returns to Maudsley Hospital to apply creative lessons from his Outsider Artist rehabilitation in the space where he relearned to walk and talk aged nineteen.

As part of Headway’s Action for Brain Injury Week (20 – 26 May 2024), artist Xavier White returns to Maudsley Hospital to discuss his art and his recovery from a traumatic brain injury.

This year’s theme is ‘A Life Re-written’ and the talk will chart positive examples of brain injury survivors who have experienced post-traumatic growth and successfully rebuilt their careers, relationships and lives. It will also outline the reality of life post-brain injury and how positive outcomes aren’t always the norm.

Please  book your free ticket for this talk and tour of Xavier White’s artwork via the booking widget on this page. Meet at the main Reception desk of Maudsley Hospital at 11am.

Xavier is also running a free creative workshop at Bethlem Gallery on Friday 24 May. For more information, click here.
