Workshops at Bethlem Gallery

At Bethlem Gallery we have expanded our workshop provision and listened to what artists want by way of workshops. In addition to our Saturday workshops, open to the public, we run sessions and development opportunities for our artists during the week. Across the hospital we run workshops to enable us to coproduce new artwork commissions.

We are increasing our weekend workshop prices. (Weekday sessions for artists remain free of charge). In line with peer organisations’ pricing and to cover more of our costs, ticket prices will be going up. We still won’t make a profit on any of our workshops – in fact they are still heavily subsidised.

Our general tickets are now priced at £20 for most public workshops. We may charge more for workshops which use more expensive materials, such as linocut printing or oil paints, or where more than one artist delivers a workshop.

Our new concessions tickets will be priced at £5. This cost will hopefully encourage people to turn up.

In order to be equitable, for those eligible we’re asking that you only use 2 concession spaces per person, per year for our weekend workshops – there is always a waiting list, our workshops are small, and we want to ensure they are accessible to everyone.

We are testing this way of working, so please bear with us.

We hope you understand. Please do get in touch if you’d like to discuss this with us or if you have any questions.

Thank you for interest in and support of the Gallery and our programme.
