Welcome to our New Website

We hope you like our new website, launched in the Gallery’s 25th anniversary year.

It’s been a while in the making, and began way back in 2019 with some workshops. The pandemic slowed the project down but it has given us more time to learn from other brilliant websites out there!

What’s new?
We have a new logo designed by artist Sarah Carpenter, refreshing our old and much loved version by using our new font. We have updated our Vision, Mission and Values which you can read hereWe now have more options for donating to us to enable individuals to support the gallery’s work, here. Our new online shop is coming soon and we are excited to share our new artist pages, which can now feature audio and film. If you are looking for inspiration, browse our toolkits now grouped under our resources section here.

Access
To make the website accessible the main design is black and white, with a button on every page (bottom right) that enables users to change the type size, contrast and other features. We hope to add more audio files and are continuing to take on board comments and input from user groups on how to make sure it works for you.

A note on carbon footprint
Websites with lots of beautiful images use more carbon. This poses a problem for us as an art gallery. You might notice that some webpages have less images than you might have expected – we are trying! In October 2021 our old website used 2.8g of C02 every time someone visited a page. In March 2022 just before we launched the new one, the old website used 2.13g. This one uses less (0.98g, but we do have many more images to add) – check it out for yourself at https://www.websitecarbon.com/website/bethlemgallery-com/

A work in progress – please check back in!
We have so many amazing projects from our 25-year history that we would love to share with you. The process of adding archive and ongoing project information is still a work in progress, so please bear with us!

Support our Gallery By making a donation to Bethlem Gallery, you are helping us support artists who find it difficult to access mainstream art opportunities at a formative time in their career, and create inspiring experiences for audiences. Donations also support us to engage the public in debate and promote greater understanding of mental health.
