Art Fair Theme Award Winners 2025
This year, Bethlem Art Fair artists were invited to submit works on a set theme: ‘Transformation’, inspired by artist Mud‘s solo exhibition I AM ALIVE which showed at the Gallery throughout summer 2025.
Entries in this category were judged by Mud, with first prize going to Reb Reid Scott for the drawing ‘Twisting and Turning’.
Mud said on the work: Mud said; “I chose ‘Twisting Turning’ by Reb because of the movement present in the piece; reminiscent of Francis Bacon or Futurism, the work shows the dynamicism of figures transforming, utterly changing in their form. To me, it symbolises being between states, or in the process of metamorphosis. This is expressed through the fluid and raw material of charcoal, which serves to further accentuate the theme of transformation.“
Second prize went to Helen Randall, with the work ‘Pain’. Both artists will receive money for art materials.
Special mentions went to Hoagy Houghton, Andrea Mindel, Teri Berkengoff, Claire Blundell-Jones and Kim Feld.
Thank you to Mud for judging this award.
Many of the works are on sale as part of Bethlem Gallery Art Fair 2025 which is open until 10 January 2026.
