Writing advice with Tom Newlands
Wednesday 15 May 11am-1pm
Bethlem Gallery
Are you a writer who is keen to take the first steps towards publication, but are unsure how?
Join author Tom Newlands for a workshop which will explore the opportunities available and demistify the process of entering writing competitions. Tom will go through the basics of formatting and presentation, explain how to write an author biography using whatever experience you have, before looking at next steps such as writing a query letter and finding an agent. This workshop is aimed at any writer who is yet to have their work published widely.
Tom Newlands is a Scottish writer living in London. He is the winner of a London Writer’s Award, a Creative Future Writer’s Award and New Writing North’s A Writing Chance. His debut novel Only Here, Only Now is forthcoming in June 2024 from Orion.
Newlands is Creative Future’s 2024 London Writer In Residence, in partnership with and hosted by Bethlem Gallery.
