Meet Mr X, Future Machine and the blossoming cherry trees in this special event taking place in Christ Church Gardens opposite Primary in Nottingham.

For the last five years a ceremony/ritual of sorts has been evolving in the park where artist Frank Abbott regularly creates interventions, often in collaboration. The ceremony includes the annual arrival of a mysterious Future Machine which witnesses the event as part of a series of events around the country. When Mr X arrives it will be the culmination of the 2023 ritual, and something amazing will happen!

This event runs alongside the group exhibition Being Present which shows until 13 May 2023 at Bethlem Gallery, and is a collaboration between Bethlem artists and artists at Primary, Nottingham.

Filmed documentation of the event will be added to the exhibition after it takes place.
