This year’s annual Unescorted exhibition showcases artwork by patients who have used medium secure services at Bethlem Royal Hospital, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Bracton Centre, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
The exhibition marks the first time the two neighbouring services have collaborated together to celebrate the talents of patients past and present. The artwork on display crosses a variety of creative media, including live music performances from Key Changes at the opening event.

Jan Arden Drawing Workshops
Join artist Jan Arden for a drawing workshop where we’ll learn about some of his working processes and ideas behind his work. Jan will take us through some demonstrations and technical exercises focusing on various techniques of cross-hatching.

Museum lates
12 May 6 – 9pm
The gallery and museum will be open from 6pm – 9pm. Artist Albert invites visitors to join him in composing Albert Town in the gallery studio. Also on show upstairs the museum will be screening Animated Minds film please see here for more info.
Mental Health Through the Lens
Join us on the 25 May, 16.30 – 17.30, for a presentation and discussion with film makers, staff and patients reflecting on the challenges and rewards of filming within the Forensics Services at Bethlem Royal Hospital, for a documentary due to be aired later this year on Chanel 4.
Our guests will include Guy King and Peter Dale from the television production company Rare Day, Dr Martin Baggaley, Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Tim McInerny and Bethlem patients involved in the filming.
