The Bethlem Tapestry
Bethlem Gallery
23rd September – 15th October 2010
To mark World mental health day 2010 patients, staff, carers and volunteers from the National Psychosis Unit at Bethlem Royal Hospital show a modern twist on the notion of tapestry. Ten meters of stretched silk comprises images and text made by participants in the project led by artist Mark McGowan.
“Tapestry is about illusion of image telling a story of what might be” – Fiona Guy, project participant
