Studio Showcase: Living-room by Adrian Flaherty
Bethlem Gallery
6th April – 1st June 2019
The sculptures, paintings and functional works presented in Living-room originate from artist Adrian Flaherty’s epic Home-Works project. When he moved into a new flat in 2014, there were no decorations, just pure white walls throughout which the artist likens to “living in an empty gallery space”.
Individual artworks were made to respond to the uses and features of his home, making interventions and combinations in the various spaces. His home over a period of time became a living sculpture.
“Living-room explores 7 characteristics of living things: Movement, Respiration, Sensitivity, Growth, Reproduction, Excretion and Nutrition”

The Studio Showcase is a space for artists to show more of their work and talk about their unique art practice.
