Since the early 20th Century, the terms ‘Art Brut’ or ‘Outsider Art’ have been employed to describe those individuals who produce art from the edges of society. This groundbreaking open entry arts prize, held across the South of England, highlights the work of artists who might otherwise have little or no contact with the institutions of the mainstream art world, and invites debate on the often overlooked subject of Outsider Art.
