Mobile Structure
By Mr X
Mr X will be activating his mobile structure from 12 – 3pm Friday & Saturday and 3 – 6pm on Sunday, he invites you to take part in its excursions around the Southbank Centre. Made from cardboard, tape and found objects, the structure has gone through many incarnations. The mobile structure gives us a sense of freedom, joy and wonder.
Sanctuaries
Sculptural interventions in cardboard made by Bethlem Gallery artists will be dotted around the Southbank Centre exploring the theme of sanctuary and shelter. These flexible modular structures offer temporary spaces to inhabit and interact with, to seek refuge within or to view the world through.
Conversation Pieces
Curated by Michaela Ross
‘Conversation Pieces’ is an Arts Council-funded project that aims to find ways of documenting and making visible the conversations that take place between staff and patients within the hospital. The conversations take place during and around the production of new sites of conversation – a chair, couch, lectern, platform – and reveal participants’ conversational styles and the potential value of collaborative making. Three chairs will be placed within the Southbank Centre, from 12 – 3pm Saturday & Sunday artists from Bethlem Gallery will be activating these structures and inviting conversations with those who sit in them.
