Bethlem Artists and Turf Projects Residency
As part of the exhibition programme for our current show Elsewhere, six Bethlem artists are taking part in a residency with Turf Projects at Wandle Park and across Croydon.
As concerns grow regarding the privatisation of public spaces across London, and elsewhere, Turf’s Fungus Press project invites artists, designers and writers to respond to Croydon’s public spaces through a series of newly commissioned billboard artworks.
You can see the Fungus Press residency named ‘Commonality’ by artists from the Bethlem Artists Collective at sites around Croydon: Park Hill Park, Wandle Park and Reeves Corner. (See map below for more details).
There are 6 artists exhibiting on the 5 boards:
Each artist has responded to the concept of well-being and creativity in different ways but against a backdrop theme of local life and community.
This residency runs alongside the group exhibition Elsewhere which shows from 24 May to 9 September 2023. You can see the boards in Croydon until 1 September 2023.
