Art Fair Theme Award Winners 2023
For the first time this year, Bethlem Art Fair artists were invited to submit works on a set theme: ‘Surface’, inspired by our ceramics exhibition, ‘Touching the Surface’ by artist Keith Clapson. Entries in this category were judged by Keith, with first prize going to Loganberryart. Karta Kaur was awarded second prize and Emma Black third. All three artists will receive money for art materials.
Keith said: ‘It was an absolute honour and a pleasure for me to judge these works.
All the work submitted in the theme inspired me. I felt it was almost impossible to judge these works, as an artist myself, who is to say what is best, especially among your equals. However I had to choose and I went with my gut and what hit my eyes first.’
Special mentions went to May Curtis-Broadhurst, Robert Sookhan and Denzil Everett.
