Mantra

Drawing down the mountain
gathering in the flock
the sound of distant bells
and soft rain.

The town settling at dusk
people coming home from work
a river running
under the bridge
and through the quiet town.

Then at the far end of the street
lights turning on
in a small house
once and now of belonging.
