In the new year The Bethlem Gallery will have a new home. We will still be on the Bethlem Royal Hospital site but we will share a new, beautiful and resourceful building with Bethlem, Museum of the Mind. The move to the Bethlem Gallery and Museum will secure the unique collections for future generations and enable the public to see more of the incredible artwork both from the historic collection and from current artists involved with our services today. Our new gallery is a larger, well lit and more flexible space. We will also have a studio which will be a dynamic and experimental space enabling workshops, events, and additional exhibition space for an exciting and ambitious new programme.
The new building signals a significant era for the artists we exhibit, as well as our local, national and international visitors. The new space will provide an impressive professional context for the work and set a precedence that the artists deserve. – Beth Elliott, Director of Bethlem Gallery
As has always been the case, the new building is open to all and free of charge. The opening day for the public is on February 19 2015.
